Mumbai Climate Week is an initiative of Project Mumbai, a citizen-driven non-profit organisation founded in 2018 that works at the intersection of civic participation, urban resilience and social innovation.
Over the years, Project Mumbai has built one of the city’s most active civic engagement platforms, mobilising thousands of volunteers, institutions and partners to address some of Mumbai’s most pressing social and environmental challenges.
The organisation works closely with citizens, municipal authorities, educational institutions, corporate partners and community groups to co-create solutions that strengthen urban resilience and civic responsibility.
Through initiatives spanning climate awareness, sustainability campaigns, public health programmes, city volunteering drives and social innovation projects, Project Mumbai has consistently focused on enabling citizens to play an active role in shaping the future of their city.
Mumbai Climate Week extends this mission by creating a global platform anchored in Mumbai that connects local action with international climate dialogue, positioning cities of the Global South as leaders in climate innovation and collaborative climate solutions.
